The Christmas Card Conundrum

Welcome to the Christmas Card Conundrum!

DO NOT OPEN ANY ENVELOPES YET!  You will be instructed when to proceed to the next envelope by the website as you play along.

What’s this all about?

Slappy the Mischievous Elf has hidden Santa Claus’s magical hat. Without that hat, Santa cannot control the reindeer and make them fly. It is essential that you find that hat or Christmas will be canceled this year!

To achieve this, you will be solving puzzles and playing Slappy’s game to reveal the hat’s location. There are 12 cards in this game; each will have at least one puzzle on it to help you move to the next card. When you have the correct answer, you will use this website to input the solution. If that code is right, you will move to the next page, and we will instruct you which envelope to open next. Some cards have more than one puzzle on them, and all cards have pieces to other multi-card puzzles that you will be solving as well.

No answer will contain capital letters, symbols, or spaces, even if they are multiple words or an alphanumeric combination. Not all letter passwords will spell an actual word.

What if I get Stuck?

At the bottom of each page you will see a set of supplemental hints that will incrementally help you determine the answer to the puzzle.  Each hint is hidden as a dropdown, and the final dropdown will reveal the correct code.
