NEED HINTS?

Below you will see drop down tabs for each puzzle. Click the + symbol to open the tab. The hints get more revealing as you go until finally giving you the solution to the puzzle.

+ Hint One For the Suitcase Puzzle

In this puzzle you are looking for an eight-letter password from the suitcase. If you read the letter from Dr. Cameron on page 1, you will see in the last paragraph some instructions to this puzzle. Do you notice any words in all uppercase letters?

+ Hint Two

If we read only these words in all uppercase letters, it says STARS ARE THE ORDER – perhaps that means the starts on the suitcase are important in giving us an order for our password.

+ Hint Three

When you look at the stickers on the suitcase, does anything stand out?

+ Hint Four

Do you see that in each of the stickers there is one letter that is the wrong color? For example, in Mexico, all of the letters are green except the M – this means the M is special.

+ Hint Five

It just happens that that M also is the sticker with only one star beside it, that means M is our first letter, can you continue on building the word from here – Australia is the sticker with two stars next to it, what letter can you get from that sticker?

+ Solution for the Suitcase Puzzle

When you have pulled all the letters from each sticker with starts beside it, the answer will spell “mapmaker” You can now put this into the password link for the Suitcase Puzzle. Remember, no capital letters or spaces will ever be used in one of our passwords.

+ Hint One For the Train Puzzle

In this puzzle we need to find a five-number passcode. If you look at the map on page 4, you will see that there are numbers between each stop. The note mentions that total number of stops is important. Perhaps that is how we get each individual number.

+ Hint Two

For example, the first ticket is Paris to Lyon, if we add all of the numbers between Paris and Lyon, we will get 4. So that ticket equals the number 4. But how do we get a correct order?

+ Hint Three

Did you notice the note said “make sure you have the correct order; it can be quite colorful? Perhaps colors have something to do with it?

+ Hint Four

On page 3, did you notice the train had different colored windows?

+ Hint Five

Put the tickets in order by color matching the same order from the train windows, left to right. This will be your number order.

+ Solution to Train Puzzle

The answer is “94379”

+ Hint One For the Jungle Puzzle

In this puzzle we need to find a six-number passcode. If you look carefully at the picture, you will find hidden numbers. But what order should they be in?

+ Hint Two

The hint at the top of the page has BOTTOM to TOP in uppercase letters, this will be our order. So, find the six digits and put them in order from bottom to top.

+ Solution to Jungle Puzzle

The answer is “826374”

+ Hint One For the Maze Puzzle

You are looking for a six-letter password, this is a four-step puzzle. In this puzzle you will have to first figure out the cipher code on page 6 and decode the message on page 7, then complete the maze on page 7, and follow any further instructions you might find along the way.

+ Hint Two

To create the cipher code, you will need to fill in the blanks. As we can see, some are already filled in for you here. One of the more important letters filled in for you is B. As you can see it equals Y.

+ Hint Three

What if we looked down to Y, did you notice it was filled in with B?

+ Hint Four

If we went with the pattern we just discovered, what would A be?

+ Hint Five

A = Z, C = X, D = W, and so on. Fill in the rest of your code.

+ Hint Six

Now use that same code to decode the message in the middle of Page 7. You will probably need some scratch paper here if you didn’t have some already. The next clue will give the decoded lines for you to check your work.

+ Hint Seven

Complete the maze start to finish. While on the correct path, count to the third letter, this is the first letter of your password. Every third letter after that letter is part of your password.

+ Hint Eight

Have you completed the maze yet? If not, this is a good time to do it, then read your decoded message.

+ Hint Nine

The code says to take the third letter in the correct letter. So if you count three letters from start and along the correct path from start to finish, you will stop on the letter H. This is your first letter.

+ Hint Ten

The decoded messages says that every third letter after H will be part of you code. So if you continue to count three more, you will stop on the letter I. I is your second letter.

+ Solution to Maze Puzzle

The answer is “hidden” Remember, no capital letters or spaces are used in our passwords.
