FOOD

As we journey back to Medieval England we find that commoners ate a lot of stews and porridges. We decided to spice it up a bit with a not-so-commoner chicken pomegranate recipe that was adapted from southern Europe during the middle ages.  Then we have a vegetable stew (with a little bit of bacon) for a side dish. Finally, we have strawberry pottage for dessert.

DRINKS

This month we look towards the medieval era for inspiration. As you may have guessed, there were not many cocktails in England in the middle ages, they mostly drank mead, beer, ale, and wine.  Spirits were drunk straight for the most part.  So we got a little imaginative here.  First, we have a beer and coffee drink, the Stout Defense.  Then we have Plague Water, which is actually modeled off of a drink of the era.  Finally, the non-alcoholic punch this month is Merry Men Punch. For the adults, we have added how to make the alcoholic version as well.
